Fortress “ Veste Oberhaus “Passau is located near the Austrian border and simultaneously intersects the Danube, Ilz, and Inn rivers. Among its historical locations, you can visit the Veste Oberhaus, a fortress which belongs to the largest castle complexes of Europe. On the castle territory, you can find a museum with exhibitions which represent history and art – and don’t miss out on the observation tower as well. Let’s also not forget about St. Stephen’s Cathedral, which has one of the largest pipe organs in the world. If you’re interested in art, check out the galleries with different local masterpieces, located along the Artist’s Quarter on Höllgasse Street, or join a Danube cruise and relax while enjoying views of the city.
- Lindau.
Lindau
By taking a direct train, you can travel to Lake Constance – also known as the Bodensee, which surrounds Lindau Island. The island itself, along with the Alps as a backdrop, give Lindau its Nordic and majestic atmosphere. The Bavarian Lion Statue and Lighthouse supplement the picture, greeting tourists and sightseeing boats. You can also observe the breathtaking panorama from the top of the lighthouse.
Along the streets of the old city, you can spot patrician houses with artistic decor, the Mangturm Tower, the old Town Hall, and the Lindau Municipal museum. Besides that, Lake Constance is a popular spot for water sports and bathing.
- Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Zugspitze, the highest peak of German Alps
For fans of hiking and exploring nature, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is definitely worth a visit. It is known for the Winter Olympic Games in 1936. Zugspitze – the highest mountain peak of Germany – can be reached by cable car and cogwheel train, or you can enjoy silence and peace on the Lake Eibsee.
Another fascinating place for nature lovers is the Partnach Gorge with its wild waterfalls.

Here you have a wide choice for sports activities, like trail running, cycling, climbing, as well as other options. Besides that, you can include visiting the Werdenfels castle ruins, the Alte Kirche, and other picturesque spots during your trip.
Don’t forget to visit Ludwigstrasse in Partenkirchen and admire the Luftmalerei, or mural paintings, which express architectural traditions of the region.
- Tegernsee.

If you are looking for a spa and relaxation getaway, it might be interesting to go on a trip to Lake Tegernsee. The Lake is surrounded by various spa towns: Bad Wiessee, Rottach-Egern, Gmund, Kreuth and Tegernsee. These destinations offer different water activities, local spa complexes, swimming pools, and saunas – or you can simply relax by the lake and enjoy the local landscapes.
- Neuschwanstein Castle

Last, but certainly not least, this is our favourite fairytale destination!
The Neuschwanstein castle was built by the Bavarian King Ludwig the Second, where he realized all his dreams and fantasies. The name of the castle is associated with the Opera Lohengrin by Richard Wagner, which is based on a medieval story about the Knight of the Swan. It’s no wonder that this beautiful castle on the rocky hills of the Bavarian Alps in Schwangau was an inspiration for Walt Disney to create Cinderella’s castle, and use it as his Disney logo!
